Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request)
• Every third weekend requirement and every other holiday rotation
• 13-week contract with bi-weekly orientation starting 1/12
• First to float within skillset to other campus locations (Deaconess Newburgh 8 miles away, Deaconess Gateway 11 miles away)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float assignments
• Care for stepdown/PCU patient population including sepsis, CHF, COPD, DKA, cirrhosis, dementia, and surgical patients
• Manage drips including insulin, heparin, and cardiac medications
• Telemetry interpretation required (must pass telemetry tests)
• Patient ratios: Night shift 1:5-6 patients
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires
• Required certifications: Current active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years RN experience including 1 solid year of stepdown/PCU experience and 1 travel assignment
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class completion
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential
• 3 call-ins can result in termination

The stepdown unit consists of 10 beds and the telemetry unit has 15 beds, providing comprehensive care for patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and treatment.
