Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts in stepdown/telemetry unit
• 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request)
• Care for stepdown/PCU patient population including drips (insulin, heparin, cardiac), sepsis, CHF, COPD, DKA, cirrhosis, and dementia patients
• Handle surgical patients including urology, abdominal, and orthopedic procedures
• Every third weekend and every other holiday requirement
• Float requirement within skillset to other campuses with 2-hour notice (Deaconess Newburgh 8 miles away, Deaconess Gateway 11 miles away)
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Patient ratios: NOC shift 1:5-6 patients
• Required certifications: Current compact nursing license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS
• Must pass telemetry interpretation tests
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Required skills: Telemetry interpretation, initiate/titrate insulin, heparin, and cardiac drips
• Preferred skills: PIV insertion, stable home vents, chest tube management, CBI, blood product administration, continuous BiPap
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing healthcare logos
• Minimum 2 years RN experience including 1 year stepdown/PCU experience and 1 travel assignment
• May require precepting students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• Clinical interview required with no local candidates accepted (40-mile radius rule)
