Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract assignment
• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement as first to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles) and potentially Deaconess Henderson (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float assignments
• Patient ratios: Night shift 1:6-7 patients
• Care for cardiac patients post-procedure, arrhythmias, heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI patients
• Provide neuro care for CVA and seizure patients, detox/CIWA protocols
• Manage patients with sepsis, DKA, and respiratory distress
• Required skills: tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, post heart cath care, heparin initiation/titration, NIHSS assessments
• Experience with chest tubes, CPAP/Optiflow, and PIV insertion
• Minimum 2 years cardiac/neuro med-surg tele experience plus 1 travel contract OR 5 years experience if no travel background
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class completion
• Required certifications: current compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system logos
• Associate degree or certificate in nursing required
• May be required to precept students and new hires
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential
• 40-mile radius rule applies - no local candidates
