Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles apart) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float assignments
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Patient ratio: Night shift 1:5-7 patients
• Care for high acuity telemetry/medical-surgical patients with cardiac focus
• Patient population includes: Afib with RVR, heart blocks, post-catheterization patients, CHF, COPD, sepsis, behavioral health/CIWA, post-ablation patients, and dialysis patients
• Required skills: Telemetry and 12-lead EKG interpretation (must pass telemetry tests), initiate/titrate drips, PIV insertion, chest tube management, CBI, antiarrhythmic medications
• Minimum 2 years strong cardiac/telemetry experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Required certifications: Active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• Teaching hospital environment may require precepting of students and new hires
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential
