Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week over 13-week contract
• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement within skillset - first to float to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross campus float assignments
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Patient ratio: Night shift 1:6-7 patients
• 19-bed blended unit (8 designated stepdown beds, 11 med surg tele beds)
• Required certifications: Current active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years cardiac/neuro med surg tele experience plus 1 travel contract OR 5 years cardiac/neuro med surg tele experience
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class completion
• Must pass telemetry interpretation tests
• Care for cardiac patients post-procedure, arrhythmias, heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, neuro patients with CVA and seizures
• Skills include tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, post heart cath care, heparin initiation/titration, NIHSS assessments, chest tube management
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• Associate degree or certificate in nursing required
