Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Weekend block option available
• Must work three weekends out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday requirement
• Float requirement within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles apart) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float assignments
• Patient ratio: Days 1:5-6 patients
• Work on 19-bed blended unit (8 designated stepdown beds, 11 med surg tele)
• Care for cardiac patients post-procedure, arrhythmias, heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, neuro patients with CVA and seizures, detox/CIWA, sepsis, DKA, and respiratory distress
• Required skills include tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, post heart cath care, heparin initiation/titration, NIHSS/dysphagia screening, sepsis care, chest tubes, CPAP/Optiflow, and PIV insertion
• Must pass tele tests as requirement
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Minimum 2 years cardiac/neuro med surg tele experience plus 1 travel contract OR 5 years cardiac/neuro med surg tele experience
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• Associate degree or certificate required
• May require precepting of students and new hires as teaching hospital
• No local candidates within 40-mile radius accepted
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
