Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• 13-week contract assignment
• Work three weekends out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday requirement
• Float requirement within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus floats
• Mid-shift float possible within same campus
• Patient ratio: 1:5-7 on night shift
• Charge nurse takes patient assignment on night shift
• Care for high acuity cardiac/telemetry patients including Afib with RVR, heart blocks, CHF, COPD, sepsis, post-ablation patients
• Required to interpret 12-lead EKGs and pass telemetry tests
• Initiate and titrate cardiac drips including antiarrhythmics and heparin
• Manage chest tubes, indwelling drains, continuous bladder irrigation, and nephrostomy tubes
• PIV insertion and stable drip management
• Must have 2 years cardiac/telemetry experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Required certifications: Compact nursing license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS
• Scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires
• Associate degree or certificate required
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
