Description
Opportunity:
RN - Stepdown
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract with bi-weekly orientation starting December 1st
• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross campus float assignments
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on days with charge nurse taking patients
• Work on 19-bed blended unit (8 designated stepdown beds, 11 medical/surgical telemetry)
• Care for post-procedure cardiac patients, STEMI/NSTEMI, carotid endarterectomy, sepsis, neuro patients (CVAs, seizures, possible TBI), and DKA
• Required skills: Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, post heart cath care, initiate/titrate drips, NIHSS assessments, sepsis care, chest tubes, PIV insertion
• Must pass telemetry tests and complete EPIC checkoff class
• Required certifications: Active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years stepdown experience plus 1 travel contract OR 5 years stepdown experience
• Recent EPIC charting experience required
• Must wear navy blue scrubs with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• No local candidates within 40-mile radius
• Associate degree or certificate in nursing required

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
