Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• 13-week contract with bi-weekly orientation starting 1/12
• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement within skillset - first to float to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson (11 miles) with 2-hour notice
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Patient ratio: Days 1:4-5, PMs 1:5-6, Nights 1:6-7
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years strong Med/Surg experience and 1 travel assignment required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class
• Navy blue scrubs required - no hoodies, sweatshirts, or competing logos
• Care for cardiac patients (chest pain, stress tests, post-cath), CVA/TIA, hypotensive, syncope, SOB, post-surgical, GI/Urology procedures, AKI, cellulitis, and detox/CIWA patients
• Perform cardiac cath recovery, post-surgical care, NIHSS assessments, initiate/titrate drips, indwelling drain management, catheter care, NG tube insertion, and blood administration
• Must demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Three call-ins can result in termination
