Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract with 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• Float requirement to other campuses with 2-hour notice (Deaconess Newburgh 8 miles away and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY 11 miles away)
• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Must wear navy blue scrubs with no competing health system or agency logos
• 2 years RN experience required with one full year in ortho/neuro/trauma and 1 travel assignment
• Trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Patient population includes trauma, orthopedic (hip/femur fractures), and neurological patients (scheduled neck/back, spine/rib fractures)
• Required skills: Strong neuro assessment, log rolling patients, applying assistive devices, telemetry/12-lead EKG interpretation, PIV insertion
• Preferred skills: Chest tube/drain management, drips management, epidural management, PEGs/NGs, Buck's traction, pin site care
• Patient ratio: Night shift 1:4-7 patients on 44-bed unit
• May require precepting of students and new hires as this is a teaching hospital
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
