Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract length with 36 guaranteed hours (48 hours available upon request)
• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday requirement
• Float requirement as first to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles) and potentially Deaconess Henderson (11 miles) with 2-hour notice
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7 on nights
• 41-bed unit caring for post-surgical patients including whipples, vascular, pre/post heart caths, bariatric, ENT, podiatry, and open bellies
• Also care for dementia, altered mental status, CIWA/detox, fall risk patients, and thyroid surgery patients
• Skills required: PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, stable drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, ostomy care, blood product administration, telemetry interpretation, wound care including packing and wound vacs
• Pre/post heart cath care including femoral/TR bands with no interventions
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Minimum two years strong Med/Surg experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires as this is a teaching hospital
• Associate degree or certificate required
