Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• Overtime after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float; mid-shift float within same campus possible
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Patient ratio: Nights 1:6-7 on 41-bed unit
• Care for Med/Surg population including post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF patients
• Required skills: Remote telemetry, chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight cath/Foleys, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood administration, tracheostomy care, PCA management
• Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• 2 years Med/Surg experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class
• Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
