Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week with option to accept 48 hours upon request
• 13-week contract length with bi-weekly orientation starting 1/12
• Float requirement as first to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potential to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice provided for cross campus floats; mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Weekend requirement: three weekends out of every six-week schedule
• Holiday requirement: every other holiday
• Patient ratio: 1:4-5 patients during day shift
• Care for high acuity cardiac/telemetry patients including AFib with RVR, heart blocks, CHF, COPD, sepsis, post-ablation patients
• Required certifications: Active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years strong cardiac/telemetry experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Must pass telemetry interpretation tests
• Skills include 12-lead EKG interpretation, initiate/titrate drips, PIV insertion, chest tube management, CBI, nephrostomy tubes
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential
• Scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
