Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract with bi-weekly orientation starting 1/12
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Must float first within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potentially to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float assignments
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Care for Med/Surg population including post-surgical patients, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF cases
• Patient ratio: nights 1:6-7 on 41-bed unit
• Required skills include remote telemetry, chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight catheter/Foleys, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management
• Must demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Minimum 2 years strong Med/Surg experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Required certifications: current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
