Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• Contract length of 13 weeks starting 1/12 with bi-weekly orientation
• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Patient ratio: Days 1:4-5 on 32-bed unit
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles) with 2-hour notice
• No on-call or call back requirements
• Must have current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years strong Cardiac/Tele experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class
• Must pass telemetry tests and demonstrate strong 12-lead EKG interpretation skills
• Work with high acuity telemetry/medical-surgical patients with cardiac focus including Afib, heart blocks, CHF, COPD, sepsis, and post-ablation patients
• Initiate and titrate drips including antiarrhythmics and Heparin, perform PIV insertion, manage chest tubes and indwelling drains
• Handle nephrostomy tubes, CBI, and stable drips
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills required
• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• Scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• Three call-ins can result in termination
• Associate degree or certificate required
