Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract with bi-weekly orientation starting 1/12
• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float; mid-shift float within same campus possible
• No on-call or callback requirements
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 solid years stepdown experience plus 1 travel contract OR 5 years solid stepdown experience if no travel experience
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Must pass telemetry tests
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• Care for post-procedure cardiac patients, STEMI/NSTEMI identification, carotid endarterectomy, sepsis, neuro patients, and DKA
• Skills include tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, post heart cath care, drip initiation/titration, NIHSS assessments, chest tube management, and PIV insertion
• Patient ratio: Night shift 1:4 with charge nurse taking patients
• 19-bed blended unit with 8 designated stepdown beds and 11 medical/surgical telemetry beds
• May require precepting students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
