Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract with bi-weekly orientation starting 1/12
• Weekend requirement: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule
• Holiday requirement: Every other holiday
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to other campus locations (8-11 miles apart) with 2-hour notice
• Patient ratio: 1:4 on nights
• 19-bed blended unit (8 designated stepdown beds, 11 MS/T)
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum experience: 2 solid years stepdown + 1 travel contract OR 5 years solid stepdown if no travel experience
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Must pass telemetry tests for EKG interpretation
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs with no competing health system or agency logos
• Care for post-procedure cardiac patients, STEMI/NSTEMI, carotid endarterectomy, sepsis, neuro patients
• Perform telemetry/12-lead EKG interpretation, post heart cath care, initiate/titrate drips
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills required
• May require precepting of students and new hires
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
