Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour weekend night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• Every weekend work requirement with every other holiday rotation
• 13-week contract with bi-weekly orientation starting 1/26
• Float requirements: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potentially Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross campus float, mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Patient ratio: 1:4-7 on nights with charge nurse taking patients
• Care for trauma, orthopedic (broken hip/femur), and neuro patients (scheduled neck/back, spine/rib fractures)
• Required certifications: Current active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years RN experience required, one full year ortho/neuro/trauma, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class completion
• Must demonstrate strong neuro assessment skills, log rolling patients, applying assistive devices
• Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation required with mandatory tele test for stepdown experience candidates
• PIV insertion skills required
• Preferred skills include chest tube management, drip management, epidural care, PEG/NG management
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• Teaching hospital environment may require precepting students and new hires
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
