Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract with 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 during day shifts
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float assignments
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Must wear navy blue scrubs with no competing health system or agency logos
• Clinical interview required
• Bi-weekly orientation starting 1/26
• Must have current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Minimum 2 years solid stepdown experience plus 1 travel contract OR 5 years solid stepdown experience
• Must pass telemetry tests and demonstrate strong 12-lead EKG interpretation skills
• Care for post-procedure cardiac patients, STEMI/NSTEMI, carotid endarterectomy, sepsis, neuro patients, and DKA
• Perform post heart cath care, initiate/titrate drips, NIHSS assessments, chest tube care, and PIV insertion
• May require precepting of students and new hires
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• 19-bed blended unit with 8 designated stepdown beds and 11 MS/T beds

The facility features a 19-bed blended unit combining stepdown and medical-surgical telemetry services, providing comprehensive cardiac and neurological care including post-procedure monitoring and critical care interventions.
