Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week with option to accept 48 hours upon request
• Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• 13-week contract with bi-weekly orientation starting 2/9
• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule and every other holiday required
• Float requirement: first to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles) and potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float; mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Work on 32-bed Cardiac Renal Unit Stepdown with nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 on days
• Care for high acuity tele/med-surg patients with cardiac focus including Afib with RVR, heart blocks, CHF, COPD, sepsis, post-ablations, and dialysis patients
• Required skills: tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, initiate/titrate drips, PIV insertion, chest tube management, CBI, nephrostomy tubes
• Must pass tele tests and complete Epic checkoff class
• Minimum 2 years cardiac/tele experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Recent Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: current compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Teaching hospital may require precepting students and new hires
• Scrubs required with no competing health systems or agency logos
• Three call-ins can result in termination
