Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week with option for 48 hours upon request
• Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to other campus locations (Deaconess Newburgh 8 miles away, potential float to Deaconess Henderson 11 miles away)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float assignments
• Mid-shift float possible within same campus
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Care for Med/Surg population including post-surgical patients, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF patients
• Required skills include remote telemetry, chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight catheterization/Foleys, ostomy care, Heparin drips, blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: Night shift 1:6-7
• 2 years strong Med/Surg experience required, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Clinical interview and MSP interview required
• Professional scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential
• May require precepting students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• Three call-ins can result in termination
