Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• 13-week contract length
• Weekend block option available
• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule OR weekend block required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross campus float; mid-shift float within same campus possible
• 41-bed unit with 1:4-5 patient ratio on day shift
• Care for med/surg population including post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF patients
• Required skills: Remote telemetry, chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight cath/Foleys, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, PCA management
• Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years strong med/surg experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• Teaching hospital environment may require precepting students and new hires
• 3 call-ins can result in contract termination
• No local candidates within 40-mile radius
