Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week over 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float to similar units as needed within critical access hospital
• On-call only if agreeable due to low census with 30-minute response time
• Call back only occurs in emergency situations
• Required certifications: Iowa RN license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and AHA PALS
• Minimum 2+ years specialty experience with Critical Access Hospital experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience strongly preferred
• Must be able to work independently and serve as back-up charge nurse
• Experience caring for pediatric patients (under 18) required
• Nurse to patient ratio up to 1:5, typically 1:3-4
• Care for skilled care level, acute, observation, and same-day surgical patients
• Staff choice for scrub colors
• Medical compliance must begin within 48 hours of accepted offer
• Associate degree or certificate required

Facility:

This critical access hospital is a 25-bed rural healthcare facility providing essential medical services to the community. The facility features a 20-bed medical/surgical unit and a 4-bed LDRP with 1 post-partum/c-section prep room. As a Level IV critical access hospital, it offers a limited range of inpatient and outpatient services including 24/7 emergency care, with an average of 85-90 deliveries per year and typical medical/surgical census of 8-10 patients.
