Opportunity:

Ultrasound Tech - Ultrasound Tech

Job Details:

• Work night shift Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs
• Must be dependable, accountable, and cooperative
• Perform a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative
• Verify proper clinician orders and obtain complete clinical history
• Ensure proper patient identification using 2 unique identifiers
• Review ultrasound images for clinically acceptable results and release patients
• Respond to emergency situations and maintain life support equipment
• Assist other technologists in all modalities when needed
• Maintain patient privacy, comfort, and dignity throughout exams
• Explain procedures to patients using AIDET method to minimize anxiety
• Complete all studies in RIS and send to PACS immediately after completion
• Maintain quality control logs for probe disinfection and infection control policies
• Transport and position patients, help them on and off procedure table
• Restock linens and supplies, maintain department cleanliness
• Take call when necessary
• Required certifications: ARDMS or ARRT-S, BLS
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree preferred
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience preferred
• Must be competent in all aspects of ultrasound, patient positioning, and exposure factors
• Must understand anatomy and pathology effects on procedure quality
