Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on medical/surgical unit in a rural hospital setting
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and data analysis
• Provide nursing interventions consistent with Plan of Care and standard practice protocols
• Conduct hourly rounds utilizing the 4 P's approach
• Utilize standard work procedures for central lines, chest tubes, foley and suprapubic catheters
• Manage pressure ulcers, restraints, and high fall-risk patients
• Use appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff
• Understand proper storage and safety protocols for medications including large volume IVs and pre-packaged medication kits
• Maintain professional image and exhibit excellent customer relations
• Foster caring, compassionate environment for patients, families, and visitors
• Participate in precepting and mentoring novice employees
• Contribute to Evidence Based Practices and hospital-system initiatives
• Demonstrate continued professional growth through goal setting and educational participation
