Travel or Local Allied Healthcare Professional needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available

Opportunity:

Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist

Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday with shifts split between start of 7:00 AM and end of 7:00 PM
• No on-call responsibilities required
• Outpatient only setting
• Couple of years' experience working on treatment machines treating patients required
• Administer therapeutic doses of ionizing radiation using advanced level linear accelerators, Tomotherapy treatment units, or proton therapy units
• Record and verify treatment software according to radiation oncologist prescriptions and instructions
• Simulate patients in accordance with prescription requirements
• Position patients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription
• Follow principles of radiation protection for patient, self and others
• Utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patient and staff
• Educate, prepare and reassure patients and their families by answering questions and providing physical assistance
• Reinforce physicians' advice regarding treatment reactions and post-treatment care
• Contribute to the training of radiation therapy students
• Maintain professional image and exhibit excellent customer relations
• Demonstrate continued professional growth through goal setting and participating in educational offerings
• Adhere to standard work procedures and service excellence standards
