RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in a 7-room inpatient/outpatient operating unit Monday through Friday, typically finishing by 7-8 PM
• Float to main OR (26 rooms, Level 1 trauma) when needed based on skill set and staffing requirements
• Must be able to scrub and circulate
• DaVinci XI robotic experience required
• Posterior eye and eye trauma experience preferred
• Handle diverse surgical procedures including general surgery (hernias, appendectomies, cholecystectomies), colorectal, gynecology, urology, breast surgery, ophthalmology, brachytherapy, plastics, uro-gynecology, and robotics
• Work with robotic procedures primarily in urology and gynecology, some bariatric
• Support gender affirmation procedures including phalloplasty
• Assist with specialty procedures like mastectomies with reconstruction, cystectomies, and nephrectomies
• Schedule includes 6-11 AM to 7:45 PM mid-shift obligations per 6-week schedule
• Required to take 2 weekend call shifts per contract with no other weekend obligations

This major academic medical center operates two distinct surgical departments with comprehensive surgical services. The facility features a main operating suite with 26 rooms serving Level 1 trauma cases, and a specialized 7-room unit handling both inpatient and outpatient procedures. The organization provides advanced surgical capabilities including robotic surgery, oncology services, reconstructive procedures, and specialized eye trauma care, maintaining high standards for complex surgical interventions across multiple specialties.
