Description

Position Summary
Registered Dietitian responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating nutrition care for hospitalized acute care patients. This role focuses on providing evidence-based medical nutrition therapy, improving patient outcomes, and supporting interdisciplinary care teams.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field required
Registered Dietitian credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration required
Florida Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist or eligible to obtain licensure within 6 months
At least 1 year of experience required
Strong communication, critical thinking, customer service, and computer skills
Master’s degree preferred
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and nutrition-focused physical exams
Identify nutrition-related problems and develop individualized nutrition care plans
Recommend and implement medical nutrition therapy based on patient diagnosis and clinical status
Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
Document assessments, interventions, orders, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
Manage enteral and parenteral nutrition support, including tube feeding and TPN/PPN
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on nutrition-related topics
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Ensure compliance with therapeutic diets and coordinate with dietary/kitchen services
Support quality improvement, patient safety, and departmental performance initiatives
Provide staff education, serve as a preceptor for dietetic interns, and maintain professional competencies
Participate in meetings, share best practices, and complete other assigned duties
