Pensacola, FL
About
The westernmost city in the Florida Panhandle, Pensacola is renowned for its powder sugar-like beaches, but it also offers unique shopping and nearly 500 years of history. Pensacola Beach is one of the prettiest in the region, with its soft, white sands and emerald waters. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the pier to dine on fresh seafood with a glorious sunset view. Take a step back in time at Fort Pickens, one of the few in the state that stayed in the hands of the Union throughout the Civil War. Visitors can explore the prisoner's quarters, officer's quarters, gun rooms and mine chambers. At the Pensacola Lighthouse and Museum, climb the 177 steps to the top of the lighthouse for a spectacular panoramic view of the Gulf Coast. The fully restored Keepers’ Quarters houses a museum on Pensacola's local history.
