Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care (MedSurg)

Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks

Job Details

Unit Size: 44 beds, staffed by 40 personnel
Patient Ratios: 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both day and night shifts
Shifts: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: As needed
Floating: Required to float to all acute care and cardiology units, including emergency care for acute care patient holds
Telemetry: Yes, but monitored on a different unit
Nurse Aides/CNAs: Present with ratios generally 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes used as sitters
Orientation: 1 week general orientation (includes EMR training), plus 2 days floor-specific orientation
EMR System: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Georgia
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, including experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIHSS certification

The hospital is located in a city with a population of approximately 80,000
Proximity: 175 miles to Atlanta, GA; 88 miles to Tallahassee, FL; 134 miles to Shell Point Beach, FL
Housing options are gated, safe, and clean with regular availability (details provided upon request)
