Job Opportunity: Technologist (PET CT)

Location

  • Leonardtown, Maryland

Employment Type

  • Contract Clinician
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • 10-hour day shifts
  • 40 hours per week

Job Summary

  • Perform PET/CT imaging using GE Discovery PETCT equipment.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction throughout the imaging process.
  • Interpret physician orders and select appropriate imaging parameters.
  • Work across various settings including outpatient centers, mobile units, and hospital-based facilities.
  • Troubleshoot imaging equipment and peripheral devices.
  • Train new technologists and patient coordinators as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Maryland
  • Positron Emission Tomography Technologist (1 year of experience)
  • Positron Emission Tomography Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ARRT (N) or NMTCB
  • ARRT (CT)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Driver's License

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-screen patients for contraindications and follow aseptic injection techniques.
  • Adhere to radiation safety regulations and proper documentation when handling radioactive materials.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic PET/CT images.
  • Provide training and support to new staff.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging scanners and related equipment.

This position is ideal for experienced PET/CT technologists seeking a contract role with a focus on patient care, technical expertise, and flexibility across multiple clinical environments.
