Description

Registered Nurse - Telemetry I

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM


Job Description

  • Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans; observe, record, and communicate patient conditions.
  • Coordinate care among all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
  • Execute physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
  • Work requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to function with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
  • Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oklahoma
  • Telemetry nursing experience with a minimum of 1 year within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Valid Driver’s License

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Exams & Competency

  • Pharmacology exam (minimum 80%, max 2 attempts), updated every 3 years.
  • Specialty exam in Telemetry nursing (minimum 80% or national benchmark, max 2 attempts), updated every 3 years.
  • EKG exam (minimum 80%, max 2 attempts), updated every 3 years.
  • Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics (minimum 80%), updated every 3 years.
  • Cerner test-out and training checklist with signed attestation.
  • Skills checklist for specialty, completed within one year of start and updated annually.

Health & Immunizations

  • Proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
  • Proof of two Varicella vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted).
  • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza vaccine is optional; if declined during flu season, mask wearing is required.
  • 2-step PPD or IGRA testing with annual TB questionnaire; if positive, chest X-ray within one year required.
  • Fit test for respiratory protection, updated annually.
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually.
  • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.

Documentation & Verification

  • Resume/profile submission required.
  • Two professional references prior to first assignment.
  • Criminal background check including SSN trace, OIG search, national sex offender registry, and other checks within 90 days of start; updated annually.
  • Employment verification for past seven years.
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
  • Driver’s license or state ID (valid, matching address requirements).
  • Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
  • Completion of onboarding attestations and modules including nursing contingent worker onboarding and pre-hire modules.

Additional Notes

  • Some optional checklists and evaluations may be requested post-assignment or during onboarding.
  • All required documents and verifications must be current and compliant prior to assignment start.
  • Must be able to work overnight shifts and handle the demands of a telemetry nursing environment.
