Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS certification
• Unexpired driver’s license copy must be included with submission
• Licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission

Experience / Skills

• Transfuse blood
• Wound vac changes
• PCA pumps
• Heparin drips per protocol

Unit Details

• 27 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: days 1:5 (max 6), nights 1:6 (max 7)
• Charge nurse present on each shift
• No monitor techs on the unit
• No vents on the unit

Scheduling

• Every other weekend
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• No self-scheduling
• No block scheduling

Floating

• May float on a rotating basis to other MedSurg, MedSurg-Telemetry, or IMC units for lower-acuity patients

Orientation

• 1 day with educator
• 1 to 2 days with preceptor

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs or white scrubs
• Scrubs are not provided
