Registered Nurse — Med Surg / LTAC

Location

• Peoria, Illinois

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• Nights
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Setting

• Med Surg / LTAC
• 10-bed unit

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS certification
• Negative drug screen required for all panels
• Must provide the last four digits of SSN, middle initial, and requested time off for submission

Experience / Skills

• PEG tube care and feedings
• CVC, PICC, and midline usage and care
• Experience with tracheostomy patients
• Ability to titrate drips
• Ability to manage respiratory equipment, including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow
• Ability to float to ICU and Acute Rehab

Patient Population

• Respiratory failure
• Post-surgical
• Wound care
• IV antibiotics
• Post-CVA
• Post-trauma
• Cardiac patients

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
• Patient care tech ratio: 1:10
• House supervisor available 24/7
• Tele monitoring is handled by a monitor tech in the ICU

Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend and as needed to fill holes
• Holiday rotation and as needed to fill holes

Orientation

• Classroom orientation per policy
• 2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor
• 12 non-billable orientation hours

Additional Notes

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Scrubs only; any color is allowed
• Only approved t-shirts are allowed
