Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Location: Greenfield, Indiana

Contract

• 13 weeks
• Nights
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• NIHSS (AHA only)
• 2 years of minimum experience
• Triage and emergency room experience

Assignment Details

• Emergency department with 18 beds, including 4 trauma bays
• Fast track area with 2 rooms
• 67 patients per day
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 4:1 for half the department and 5:1 for the other half
• Travelers may work in triage after passing the unit’s triage test
• RNs are expected to titrate drips and manage set-rate cardiac drips
• RNs interpret telemetry strips
• RNs are responsible for blood draws
• One 12-hour orientation shift

Scheduling and Work Expectations

• Shifts are mostly 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 11a-11p, and 3p-3a
• Every 3rd weekend is required
• Holiday coverage may be required based on department need
• No call required
• Floating is routine except to the ER overflow unit
