Registered Nurse — Cardiac Stepdown

Location

• Morgantown, West Virginia

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• Nights
• 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend
• Holidays as scheduled

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Cardiac and vascular experience
• Ability to titrate drips

Unit Details

• 32-bed unit with all private rooms
• Stepdown ratio: 1 RN to 3 patients
• Floor ratio: 1 RN to 6 patients
• Common patient population includes post-op cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and cardiology cases
• Telemetry monitoring is used on the unit
• Respiratory support equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen

Responsibilities and Work Conditions

• Floating required to sister units within the Heart and Vascular Institute
• No call or standby requirement
• Unit orientation is 2–3 shifts

Additional Notes

• Solid royal blue and white scrubs required
• Driver’s license copy must be submitted with the application
• Applicants must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• Previous permanent staff must be gone for 2 years before reapplying
• Previous travelers who completed 1 full year there must be gone for 2 years before reapplying
• Only one submission may be active at a time across the WVU system
• Travel teams must be submitted together in one email
• Up to 2 candidates may be submitted per opening
