Radiation Therapist

Overview

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiation Therapist license in Ohio
• Radiation Therapist (2 years of experience)
• Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
• ARRT (RT)
• BLS
• Minimum of an associate degree in radiography with certification in radiation therapy

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in radiation therapy
• Truebeam/Aria experience
• Ohio Department of Health License preferred upon submission

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments using radiation therapy equipment
• Obtain patient history, answer questions, and explain procedures
• Monitor patients during treatment for unusual reactions or events
• Schedule patients and coordinate with physicists and supportive care staff
• Verify prescriptions, diagnoses, charts, and patient identification
• Prepare treatment documentation and reports
• Position and transfer patients safely for treatment
• Reinforce physician and care-team instructions related to treatment side effects and care
• Perform verification and port film exposures and make treatment adjustments as directed
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development

• Medium work, with lifting and force requirements up to 20-50 pounds occasionally and up to 10-25 pounds frequently
