Location

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour day shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS certification
• Active ACLS certification
• 1 year of PACU experience

Preferred Experience

• Cardiac experience

Unit Details

• Pre-op, Phase 1, and Phase 2 recovery, including moderate sedation recovery
• 21 beds
• Typical patients include anesthesia recoveries and sedation cases for both outpatients and inpatients
• Common case mix includes heart caths, EP procedures, structural heart, vascular, thoracic, and CT surgery cases
• Does not recover open sternotomy patients
• Occasionally recovers ICU patients
• RNs read strips

Schedule

• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• One 0800–2030 shift is required each week
• Possible shift times: 0500–1730, 0600–1830, 0700–1930, 0800–2030

Call

• Call is required
• Call may include weekends and hospital-recognized holidays
• Call hours are 0600–1830
• One-hour response time required

Floating

• Does not float to other units

Orientation

• 1 week of orientation

Additional Details

• Perioperative Care Assistants support the unit
• Scrubs are provided in ceil blue
