Description
Registered Nurse — Med Surg / LTAC
Location
- Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- Nights
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend and as needed to fill holes
- Holiday rotation and as needed to fill holes
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS
- Must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all panels
- PEG tube care and feedings
- CVC/PICC/Midline usage and care
- Tracheostomy patient care
- Ability to titrate drips
- Ability to float to ICU and Acute Rehab
Preferred
- ACLS
Unit Details
- Med-surg unit with 10 beds
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
- Patient population includes respiratory failure, post-surgical, wound care, IV antibiotics, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac patients
- Respiratory equipment is managed by respiratory therapy
- Telemetry is monitored by a monitor tech
- Nurse aides/patient care techs are present at a 1:10 ratio
- House supervisor available 24/7
Orientation
- Classroom orientation per policy
- 2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor
Additional Notes
- Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted
- Scrubs only; approved t-shirts may be worn, any color
- Call is not currently required, but this may change
