Radiographer (Radiologic Technologist)

Job Details

• Location: Detroit, Michigan
• Contract length: 17 weeks
• Shift: 3:00 AM–3:30 PM
• Schedule: Every other weekend rotation
• Hours per week: 36
• Hours per day: 12

Required Qualifications

• Radiology Technologist (1 year of experience)
• Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
• ARRT
• BLS
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma or Level 2 Trauma patients
• Operating room (OR) experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform radiologic procedures under the direction of a radiologist
• Prepare patients and explain examination procedures
• Review clinical data and obtain additional patient history as needed
• Set up equipment, position patients, and perform imaging procedures
• May administer intravenous contrast media and monitor for reactions
• Follow radiation protection and infection control practices
• Complete documentation, logs, and records
• Resolve image exceptions and manage image delivery in PACS
• Complete study indexing and documentation in RIS
• Review clinical protocols with the radiologist as needed
• Support teaching of new hires and students when needed

Work Environment

• Hospital-based role using fixed and mobile units
• May be exposed to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and contagious patients
• May occasionally lift or move equipment or patients over 10 lbs
