RN Post Partum/OB/Labor & Delivery

Overview

• Location: Charlevoix, Michigan
• Employment type: Long-term assignment
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Weekend requirement: 2 weekend shifts every 2-week period
• On-call: Yes, 1–2 on-call shifts every 4 weeks
• Holidays: No

Role Summary

• OB nurse for an LDRP department in a critical access hospital
• Provides labor and delivery, triage, emergent C-sections, postpartum care, low-risk maternal care, stabilization of preterm and high-risk patients for transfer, and newborn care in a level 1 nursery
• Must be able to stabilize sick newborns with interdisciplinary support and prepare for transfer to higher-level care

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Michigan
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Experience in triage
• Experience with emergent c-sections
• Experience in postpartum care
• Post Partum experience
• Experience stabilizing preterm and high-risk patients for transfer
• Experience working independently in a level 1 nursery caring for well-born neonates 35 weeks and older
• Experience stabilizing sick newborns with interdisciplinary team support
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
