RN (Registered Nurse)
Overview
- Specialty: Adult Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
- Location: Peoria, Illinois
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts
- Weekly hours: 48
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- CVICU (2 years of experience)
- CVICU experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Ability to interpret cardiac strips
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS preferred
- CCRN is a plus
Unit Details
- 20-bed unit, all private and monitored
- Patient ratios vary by acuity: 1:1, 1:2, or 2:1
- Charge nurse and house supervisor are available 24/7
- Patient care techs are available
- Respiratory therapists are available 24/7
- Monitor techs are available
Patient Population / Clinical Experience
- Post open-heart surgical patients
- Cardiovascular ICU patients with conditions including STEMI, unstable angina, unstable NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, severe heart failure, TAVRs, and other cardiac-related ICU events
- Ventilated patients
- Overflow patients from other ICUs, including COVID patients
- Post VAD placement and post heart transplant patients are expected soon

Scheduling and Work Expectations
- Every other weekend
- Every other holiday
- No self-scheduling
- No block scheduling
- Float to every level of care
- Travelers are expected to take a full team

- Scrubs must be clean and appropriate in appearance
