Location

• Peoria, Illinois

Contract

• 26 weeks
• Local placements accepted within 50 miles

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• Evening shift
• Every other weekend
• Holidays may be required based on department needs
• No call requirement
• Travelers are scheduled by the scheduling manager; block scheduling may be accommodated

Unit Details

• Emergency department
• Level 1 trauma center
• 65 beds, all private
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3–5
• 12-hour non-billable orientation

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS
• ACLS
• ENPC or PALS
• TNCC or TNS
• Negative drug screen required
• Must provide the last four digits of SSN, middle initial, and requested time off for submission

Experience

• At least 2 years of nursing experience preferred
• At least 1 prior travel assignment preferred

Clinical Expectations

• Care for a wide range of emergency patients, including critically ill patients, cardiac arrest, strokes, heart attacks, and stabilized trauma patients
• Must be able to interpret and act on cardiac rhythms
• Expected to manage and titrate vasopressor, cardiac, and antihypertensive drips
• May float as a help-all on other units if needed

Additional Notes

• ED techs and a monitor tech are available
• Respiratory therapists assist with ventilator and respiratory equipment
• Nurses and techs draw labs
