Registered Nurse — Emergency Department
Location
- Peoria, Illinois
Contract
- 26 weeks
- Local placements accepted within 50 miles
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts
- Evening shift
- Every other weekend
- Holidays required based on department needs
- No call requirement
- Travelers are scheduled by the scheduling manager; time-off requests may be reviewed and approved or denied based on staffing needs
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS
- ACLS
- ENPC or PALS
- TNCC or TNS
- Must be able to produce a negative drug screen
- 2 years of nursing experience preferred
- At least 1 prior travel assignment preferred
Clinical Setting
- Level 1 emergency department
- 65 private beds
- Typical patient population ranges from newborns to elderly, including critically ill, stroke, heart attack, and trauma patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3–5, depending on acuity
- Nurses should be able to interpret and act on rhythms
- Common drips include vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
Additional Notes
- Non-billable orientation: 12 hours
- Floating is rare and, if needed, would be as a help-all on another unit
- No specific scrub color required
