Required Qualifications

• Active IL license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS
• NRP
• Required assessments
• Care of the Post-Partum Patient
• Must be able to titrate drips

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• Lactation education/support experience
• Level 2 Nursery experience

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Every 3rd weekend
• Every other holiday
• Self-scheduling in 6-week time periods may be available
• Block scheduling may be considered

Float Scope

• May float within the Family Birthing Center
• May float to Behavioral Health needs
• May float to Women’s Care Unit (AP & Women’s surgeries)
• May float to L&D to assist in recoveries, general support, and sitter patients if AWHONN monitor trained

Unit Details

• 9 LDR procedure rooms
• 2 OR suites for C-sections
• 1 PACU
• 6 L&D triage rooms
• 18-bed antepartum unit
• 36 postpartum private rooms
• Average daily census: 18 adults and 14 infants
• AWHONN ratio: 1 to 3

Additional Notes

• No call requirement
• PCTs assist primarily with adult patients
• Labor hospitalist is in house 24/7
• Newborn hospitalists are in house daily, with NICU coverage at night for emergencies
• Respiratory is available to assist with home CPAP or BiPAP setup/questions
• Telemetry is monitored by off-unit Tele Techs; nurses are not required to read or interpret strips
• Epic is used for EFM
• Orientation includes 2 full 12-hour shifts on OB Acute, 1 day in L&D, and 1 day in WCU
