Emergency Center RN

Overview

• 17-week contract
• Albany, Georgia
• 12-hour evening shifts
• Start ASAP
• Larger hospital experience is requested

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• ED - Emergency Department (5 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS
• TNCC
• CPI
• ASLS or NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Driver's License
• Experience with Meditech
• Driver’s license address must be listed in the emailed submission
• 75-mile radius rule applies

Unit / Patient Population

• Emergency Center
• 6-bed behavioral lockdown area staffed by psych
• Approx. 180–200 visits per day
• Ratios: 1:4
• Patient population includes pediatrics through geriatrics
• Trauma patients are seen
• Some neuro trauma is transferred out
• Some ortho is kept and some is transferred out
• No burns are kept
• CVA center

Workflow / Support

• Charge nurse: yes
• Nurse aides/paramedics: yes, 5–6 per shift
• Security/patient sitters: yes
• Tele/monitor techs: central monitoring tech
• Vents are held in the ER until admitted
• RT is available 24/7 and dedicated to the ER
• Pharmacy is in department 11 hours per day and on campus 24/7
• Nurses do lab draws
• Nurses start their own IVs
• Floor-specific orientation: 2 shifts
• ORT must be completed during week one

• Every other holiday
• Caribbean blue scrubs only
• Auto lunch deductions
• Callout process should be reviewed with the agency staff
