Schedule

• Days
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• ACLS
• BLS Certification
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS

Department / Unit

• RT
• ICU has 15 beds
• Pediatric floor

Responsibilities

• Draw ABGs with EPOC
• Perform EKGs when needed
• Assist with intubation
• Assist with bronchs using the bronch adapter
• Assist throughout the hospital
• May assist with transports
• May become a preceptor
• May move floors after first rounds

Patient Population / Coverage

• Inpatient
• Adults, pediatrics, and neonates
• High-acuity neonates are not kept
• Babies stay on CPAP
• High-flow nasal cannula is used on the pediatric floor

Additional Notes

• Permanent address must be at least 25 miles from the facility location
• Department orientation is 2 days
• Self-scheduling may be allowed
• Block scheduling is attempted
• Travelers are worked with on scheduling
• No call requirement
• No holiday requirement, though holiday work may be requested if staffing needs it
• No outpatient or sleep coverage required
• No ART lines
• Critical labs must be reported in a timely manner
• Hand hygiene is very important
