Tele Intermediate RN

Overview

• 26-bed Tele Intermediate department in Galesburg, Illinois
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 15 weeks
• Local placements accepted within 50 miles

Required Qualifications

• Active IL license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)

Assignment Details

• Travelers are expected to float and will keep the same ratio on the assigned unit
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend, Friday through Sunday
• Holidays: every other holiday
• No call requirement
• No block scheduling, though night shifts in a row may be accommodated
• Charge nurse takes patients
• Nurse aides/techs ratio: 1:9
• Ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
• Central tele monitor tech support
• No vents; Bipap, Cpap, and HF/Vapotherm are used
• Hospitalist coverage 7a-5p, then APN in-house with e-hospitalist
• RT available 24/7
• 24/7 pharmacy support; nursing does not mix meds
• Floor orientation includes 1 hospital orientation shift and 2 unit orientation shifts, one day shift and one night shift

Patient Population

• CHF
• COVID pneumonia
• Afib with RVR
• tachy/brady syndrome
• syncope

• Last four digits of SSN
• Clinician’s middle initial
• Requested time off

Additional Notes

• Drug-free campus; negative drug screen required for all panels
• Non-billable orientation: 12 hours
• Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
• Scrubs are not provided; own scrubs may be worn
