ICU RN

Overview

• Role: ICU RN
• Location: Oakland, Maryland
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts
• Hours: 36 per week

Unit Details

• Unit: ICU
• Beds: 4
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
• Patient types: Respiratory failure, afib.rvr, suicide, detox, some medsurg overflow, occasional art lines, pediatrics
• Float scope: May float to medsurg if census is low

Required Qualifications

• ICU experience
• RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• NIHSS - AHA Only
• Must be able to titrate drips

Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend required
• Night shift is Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• Holidays rotate with regular staff
• No call or standby requirement

Unit Support

• House Supervisor in house; no charge nurse
• 1 clinical assistant most days, 24 hours/day depending on census
• Hospitalist or Intensivist in house
• RT in ICU 24/7
• RNs monitor and read strips for medsurg and ICU

Additional Notes

• Any scrub color except camo or orange
• 3–5 days of unit training
• Zoom implementation
• 50-mile radius rule; submissions must include an unexpired driver’s license
