Respiratory Therapist

Role Overview

• 13-week contract in Princeton, West Virginia.
• The assignment is based in a community hospital with 127 inpatient beds.
• The department typically staffs 7 RTs during the day and 5 RTs at night.

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of respiratory therapy experience.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist for West Virginia.
• ACLS
• BLS (AHA)
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• PALS
• STABLE Certification
• Experience with vents, ABG, BiPAP, infant vents/CPAP, resuscitation, and EKG.
• ER, ICU, and inpatient adult experience.
• Peds and L&D experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• RRT
• Peds experience

Schedule

• 12-hour day/night rotating shifts.
• Set schedules made 4 weeks at a time.
• Every other weekend.
• Holidays are worked if they fall on a scheduled workday.

Work Setting and Duties

• Covers all inpatient areas and the ED.
• Also covers inpatient EKGs, outpatient EKGs, and outpatient bronchs in a procedural setting.
• May be called to initiate CPAP on an infant.
• Core RTs can place art lines.
• Travelers are not required to do critical care transporting outside the facility.
• Travelers start on inpatient units and then branch out from there.

Floating

• Floating is within the facility only.

Additional Notes

• No call or standby call requirement.
• Assist in intubation only.
• A lead therapist or supervisor is available for questions.
• The facility will do a second interview and assess skills on site.
• Professional scrubs in any color are allowed.
